Sport Psychiatry
NHS work as a Psychiatrist
I work as an NHS Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. I have worked in Thames Valley (Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire) as well as now currently in Central North West London. I have worked in General Adult Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Community and inpatient settings, CAMHS Eating Disorders unit. I also spent a year working in New Zealand in a general adult inpatient unit in Hawkes Bay in one of the government public funded hospitals.
Sport in Mind
I am currently working with Sport in Mind on a project relating to physical activity in CAMHS. In the past I have attended their events and also am a contributing author to a publication co-published by Sport in Mind and British Equestrian. This was the mental health toolkit which you can find here. It covers a large range of mental health disorders and explanations about each of them.

SEPSIG - Royal College of Psychiatrists
I am a committee member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Sports and Exercise Psychiatry Special Interest Group.
In October 2025 I gave a lecture on equestrian mental health and also chaired a panel including Eventer Lydia Heywood to give her perspective on mental health as a professional rider, and I also invited Sylvia Bruce from Riders Minds which is a national charity focusing on equestrian mental health and wellbeing.
I co-chaired the SEPSIG conference on 5th October 2026 which was on the theme of Brain Health in athletes. I have been involved for around 2 years and help to organise conferences and also publicise the work we are doing via social media. My official title is Events Lead and Social Media Lead.
London International Horse Show
In December 2025 I gave a talk at London International Horse Show about Equestrian Mental Health. This was in collaboration with Sport in Mind and was well received. I am always looking for opportunities to share with others how we can improve the equestrian culture and make our sport a more inclusive space.
